The "Tea" roses are native to China, the first variety was introduced from India in England
in 1789 and in France in 1810, under the name of Rosa indica odorata. The Rose Yellow tea
was also brought around 1824. These roses, of a more or less dark yellow tone, garnet,
pale, white or a delicate pink have a wealth of infinite shades, and a sweet smell
comparable to that of tea.
