The castle of Vers-les-Prés - Raousset

Raousset's castle

In 1836, a Lyonese silk-manufacturer, Léon Félissent bought this property. Its winefields - 17 ha - are located above the Chiroubles, Fleurie and Villié-Morgon villages.

He built the castle of Vers-les-Prés in the 1850s

In 1869 the winery is very modern with 3 screw presses, a fourth "troyen" system and 21 wine vat of 50 hl.

Gaston de Raousset, count of Raousset, grandson of Léon Félissent, developped the winefield.

When he died, in 1959, the three daughters kept the property together.

Today the winefield is the property of the grant-children of count of Raousset.
