Foundet in 1929, the cooperative of Chiroubles was one of the first generation's cooperative in Beaujolais.
After the price collapse from 1928 (Worldcrise), the producers wanted to face the price cash and vinify the smaller wine growers in the best possible conditions.
A tasting cellar welcomes tourists and Sunday walkers - it is the start of car tourism and sunday trips, from vault in vault through the Beaujolais wines.
The cooperative cellar of Chiroubles around 1960
The vine-growers'house, the "Maison des Vignerons", brings together around 60 members. It vinifies around hundred hectares growing in the Crus : Chiroubles of course, and also Fleurie, Morgon, Régnié.
In 2008 the cooperative cellar merged with the Bel-Air winegrower cellar in Saint-Jean d'Ardières, named today "Vinescence". In Chiroubles continued to be vinified the grapes of the AOC Chiroubles, and also other vintages, Saint-Amour for example, until 2020.
The ground floor is rented to a winegrower of Chiroubles which transformed it into tasting cellar.
